The International Indian Film Academy, the grandest celebration of Indian Cinema, has been dedicated to building bridges across cinemas, businesses, communities and nations. In line with its innovative spirit, IIFA this year too, will be showcasing unique events in an attempt to enable Indian Cinema aficionados to experience stardom.

One of the highpoints of this year’s IIFA celebrations, the glamorous IIFA Fashion Extravaganza included fashion lines from India and Thailand in a star-studded presentation. What makes the IIFA Fashion Extravaganza even more special is that the beneficiary is the IIFA Foundation, a charity organization set up by IIFA to support families of the film industry workers who have been adversely affected during the production of a film.

The glitzy extravaganza, hosted by the effervescent Karan Johar, showcased designs by Alta Moda, Mufti, Sabyasachi, Rohit Bal, Manish Malhotra and Vikram Phadnis. Choreographed by Lubna Adams, it featured 25 Thai models and 15 Indian models adorning jewelry from Gitanjali Lifestyle and Diamrusa.

Leading Indian cine stars walked the ramp as showstoppers for their favourite designers. While Kareena Kapoor added the glam quotient for Manish Malhotra’s designs, the cast of the film De Talli, Aftab Shivdasani, Riteish Deshmukh and Ayesha Takia walked the ramp for Vikram Phadnis. The Love Story 2050 couple – Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja were showstoppers for Rohit Bal and the Mission Istanbul cast - Zayed Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Shriya Saran, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Nikitin Dheer, Shweta Bharadwaj set the ramp on fire, while showcasing the look of their soon-to-be-released film.

Acid Factory disclosed its first look with Dia Mirza, Fardeen Khan and Dino Morea walking the ramp, partaking in the revelry. Alta Moda’s gorgeous brand ambassador and reigning Miss Thailand-Universe, Khun Farung Yuthithum walked the ramp as their showstopper adding the Oriental quotient to the Extravaganza.

The second day of the IIFA Weekend Bangkok, the IIFA Fashion Extravaganza, presented by alternative clothing brand Mufti and Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer was held at one of Thailand’s most high profile venues, the Siam Paragon Hall.

Wizcraft International Entertainment Ltd. Director, Sabbas Joseph said, “The IIFA Foundation was set up in 2003, as a humble attempt to contribute to a noble cause in the magical world of Indian Cinema. Each year, we host charity celebrity events, at the IIFA Weekend, and it has been heartening to see the number of eminent cine stars that have come forward to support this cause. IIFA believes in continuing this humanitarian mission by extending its efforts, raising funds and resources, in the hope of lighting up lives of the less fortunate. IIFA is not just about the stars and celebrations, and the IIFA Foundation puts the workers at the centre of its activities.”
